Called underground haul truck, this operation is an essential aspect of the process to expedite minerals from the ground to the needed destination. The absence of haul trucks would make the mining process slower and more complicated.
In this case, we are talking about a large truck that resembles a normal truck but on a much larger scale: a haul truck. Those trucks have huge tires to allow them to drive across rough terrain. Dewatering and transporting whatever is mined can involve a lot of rock and minerals, so the size and strength is needed to carry everything from the mining site to a processing plant. Haul trucks are especially used in surface mining, or more specifically, open-pit mining. A method in which miners remove copper, gold, silver and other valuable minerals from the earths surface. Open-pit mining, in contrast, is a different technique from underground mining. In underground mining, workers are digging tunnels and shafts deep into the ground to search for minerals. In open-pit mining, on the other hand, the minerals are closer to the surface, and it's much easier for miners to access them. Miners use explosives to blast the rock into smaller pieces that they can get the minerals out of. Once the rock is fractured, haul trucks arrive to transport the heavy materials away. For the haul truck, its path begins when it unloads the rocks into grinder, a special machine designed for crushing rocks. This device crushes the rocks into smaller, more manageable pieces.
The process of hauling is one such area that is dirty and dusty, after all, mining work is not an easy job, especially when it comes to all the machines involved, like haul trucks. Since these trucks operate in challenging environments and carry heavy loads, they need daily checks and maintenance to ensure they are operational. The step after the minerals are removed from the ground and passed through the processing at the mining plant is transportation to their final stop.
